We have the comfort step and love it. I tend to be a klutz and was worried about falling off the edge of thinner bumpers/steps. It was a big factor for our decision on Adventurer.
We remove the flip up steps and only use them when we're keeping the TC on the truck. We usually use it off and lower it quite low to the ground and then use a folding step.
We tow our boat using a 42" Torklift hitch extension.
It's works perfectly for our needs. The comfort step is the widest (of it's sort) that we seen. The fox landing came out to try and compete with it.
BTW, you don't need to remove the steps if you're towing. They flip up out of the way. DH has rigged it so it's easier to put on and take off. The hard part is getting the bolts out the first time. They're on there to last forever.
