A few more opinions and I hope I don't shoot myself in the foot but...I believe that compartment doors really suck. Especially the ones that are over louvered and are just a sheet of punched aluminum or plastic like on a fridge. As mentioned before, you have to come up with how to best insulate those doors but let gases escape and just a little fresh air in. My belief is it only takes one very small louver at the top and bottom. I have seen some designed that the vent portion was better thought out to keep water and snow from entering the space. I literally tape mine shut from the inside(this helps keep water intrusion out by the way) and put something on the door itself like some R-Tech foam board. How many have seen a compartment with dry rot around the bottom because it has those silly punched out louvered doors?? Say yes I know you have. With that said, Here is another piece of advice. Be sure and park your rig so the wind is not hitting it directly on the side where it hits your gas appliances... If your lucky most will be on one side but that is not always the case. Either way I try and angle mine so the rear door doesn't fly out of you hand when you open the door.. I would rather have to push it open and slam closed than slam open... does that make sense? Give this some thought. Hope this gets you busy on your winter mod list.. good luck out there.
