Well put. Since I'm on a custom build, now is the time to gather what I know, watch others make mistakes and glean what ever else I can. Your advice is truly noted and you have my attention. No experience that is field tested can go un-noticed. Even though I am chomping at the bit to get through our cold snaps here and there, I know the RV I have on paper and now is a frame in my driveway, will be a labor of love come spring. With some ingenuity here and there, it will be well thought out and not having to work around something prebuilt. I already can hear the naysayers. I like your "what works for me may not work for you" philosophy. This is so true and is mine also. I hope the OP is reading this because this is how we learn from each other. I'm still willing to give and receive, positive or negative. I'm willing to experiment...test run ideas. My first advice to a true newbie is.. "dry camp in your driveway for a week" and see what breaks, then go break it in the field and see what happens. Yeah...3 trucks 4 campers and now a 5th wheel custom. A whole other learning curve. Tires & rims, suspension, frame...lucky I can weld good because this is where it starts...ground up. Keep an eye out on the build.. I'm not calling it a tiny house...it is an RV first. My motto on this build is " I built it, I can fix it when it breaks". I built the house I live in now from the ground up, and I can certainly build one with wheels... I watched when you got your 550 and did the flat bed with the side compartments. I will have to re-read... Best to you also...Kev
