Wow, gotta say I was surprised by the posts. Here we have a new to the forum, excited to be camping newbie looking forward and creating some good family memories and almost every post is blasting them on their choices. Having read this forum on and off for 4 plus years I think that this family could learn a lot by reading and asking questions. With 3 kids al under the age of 5, getting the into the camping lifestyle of any kind is great and having a location only 30 minutes away makes it easy to get to and back from. Eventually they may want to pull out for a weekend get away or more. I would suggest taking a look at the Tow Vehicles and Towing issues forum. I have no idea of what kind of trailer you are looking at, but with a family of 5 my guess is it's big and you will want to learn a lot about towing issues and the like. Lastly about buying new, good for you! We bought new 5 years, went to an RV show looked at literally dozens of trailers and floor plans. We looked on-line at some more, walked into a dealer and bought one brand new. Sure like a new car I 'ate' some depreciation, but I know how it has been cared for and if I use for a good 10 to 15 years I won't be worrying about depreciation. Every morning I wake wake up I tell myself I love this trailer and can't ever imagine owing bigger smaller or otherwise. Point being if you have done your research and know what is out there, then go out and buy one and have a blast. Also know that on this forum there are many opinions feel free to use them as you see fit. As a side point someone mentioned would be worthwhile to pull it a while a some issues won't pop up till it's driven over the road for a while, and for some reason every new RV we have seen/ met has always has some sort of issues with it, part of the territory I guess. Congrats and have fun!
