my old dodge is a 2005 model, so anything less than 10 years old is new technology to me.
I must have picked up the wrong link, got my information all wrong,
the article was in the February 2016 Popular Mechanics
article: The truck that is almost as strong as a Dung Beetle
2016 Ford F-450 Super Duty
all I know is what the article said, "is the most powerful pickup you can buy"
page 73 ???????????
but they may have lied, the companies are always trying to up-man-ship the other brands.
surely PM would have checked out the numbers before printing
I wouldn't sell your 2005 just yet. Assuming its a 3500 DRW it has a 9350 RAWR vs 9100 RAWR for the 2015 F450 with the style side bed.
The older F450 style side bed had 11000 RAWR but for whatever reasons Ford neutered the truck load carrying capabilities....probably for a smoother ride.
I know commercial haulers dropped the the newer 9100 RAWR versions like a hot rock as the F450 weight eat up payload. Payload = money to those folks.
The F450 is still popular with RV folks with its larger brakes and short turn radius however the F350 DRW has better payload numbers with its 9650 RAWR.
Do your homework on specs between the one ton DRW trucks and the F450. Some folks were surprised at what they found out.
