I agree. Do you REALLY need 24"? The ball doesn't have to hang way back behind the camper, unless you have a really weird trailer with a lot going on right above the coupler.
My camper hangs off the rear by 18", and I have a 14" extension, plus the shank, puts the ball just beyond the rear wall of the trailer. I have plenty of clearance and can turn as short as I want.
