Diesel isn't for everyone. My 2004 Chevy 2500HD with 6.0L served me well for 10 years. I towed boats and my TT all over the midwest and it did just fine. The kicker for me was I started making trips with the TT to eastern TN. The '04 made it up the hills but it took everything the engine had to make it happen. At that point I decided to go diesel because we're planning more mountain trips.
