New Diesel PU

Congrats!! I also just bought one but don't go pick it up for another week. Very happy with the deal and excited about the truck. The engine has such amazing specs, only thing crazier is the complexity of all the systems, how they are all wired together, and how everything is shoe horned between the front wheels.

Pay attention to the break-in procedure for the rear end. You definitely want that gear set to mate up correctly.

Looks like I will get it Monday or Tuesday. Already planning to get some miles on in so I will be ready to go south in December.

Be careful on wet pavement. It has ALOT of torque and the rear end can get away from you. Not a big, you'll get used to it easy enough. I put a turbo saver on mine. It automatically takes care of the turbo with no effort on my part. They're great.

The new Ford SD's are nice, but they seem to rock chip very easily. I think the GM's do as well. I would invest in some clear bra for the new pickup and of course adequate mud flaps.

Awesome truck, congrats! Those new Ford diesels are great trucks.

From memory my 2012 6.7 recommended varying the speed for 500 miles and no towing for 1000 miles, but read the man to get the current recommendation. It could be that only 3% of the trucks made need a proper break-in--do you want your truck to be in that 3% and have problems--just follow the guidance. Be VERY careful about fuel (to the extent that you can) because ethanol, gasoline, or water in the fuel will blow up the hp pump and ruin the injectors. MANY people have no problems with their fuel systems, however, why test the odds. The Motorcraft fuel treatment adds lubricity to help protect the pump, as well as de-mulsifying water so the filter can catch it. Dieselstop.com is a good web site for Ford owners.
