Your preferred flavor of 3/4 or 1 ton SRW would handle that trailer fine. Just make sure the tire and axle rating is adequate. As a rule of thumb you'll be more limited if it has 17" tires on it.

You mention used tow vehicle, may we ask the budget?

As noted above 3/4 or 1 ton srw should work, you might want to just focus on finding a 1 ton srw.

Get a one ton. 2500 series trucks run out of capacity real quick. 34 foot with 1600 pounds pin weight sounds fishy to me. I suspect your looking at the mystical dry weight. Remember, no matter what a fifth wheel will load approx 20% of its true loaded weight directly over the rear axle of the tow vehicle. That is in addition to what else you might load on, including the hitch, people, tools and supplies.

Again, I am not a motorhead. Do the above recommendations equate to a Ford F250?

I have not yet established a budget yet because I have not sold my boat yet.
I'm thinking around $10K. If actually need to spend more, I will. I do not want a clunker for a long distance trip.

No a F350, GM 3500, dodge 3500 would be all 1 tons giving you plenty of room in the GVWR.

Honestly $10k for a used diesel, not to offend anyone, I wouldn't call it a clunker but depending on what your looking for in features wont be much of a truck. unless your going to look for a base model 2 wheel drive regular cab?

I would be looking for a ford 7.3 or dodge 5.9 diesel, my concern is you mention your not a motorhead, well buying in this price point and age youll be doing a lot of wrenching.

You will want a GM - 3500, Dodge - 3500, Ford F350, Single Rear Wheel (SRW) will do. 10k I doubt it, used you are going to be in the 20's and up I would think for a reliable used truck. If you buy older you could go GM 8.1/454, ford v10/460 size gasser or a diesel.

I agree for this price look for a big block gasser.

In the 10K range, you get older. Capacities for trucks have greatly increased with advanced engine braking. Older trucks can still be found in very serviceable condition.

I would definitely look for a one ton truck rather than a 3/4 ton. If you find something you are interested in, post it on here and you will get many responses.

There is much to learn, and we are not motorheads either. The fact is, you have to learn to become a responsible owner/operator of a vehicle combination that is 45-50 feet long and weighs up to 20,000 pounds combined.

I took the info from a Sabrebrochure. Model 311RETS:
Ext. Length: 33'-11"
Hitch Weight: 1405
Axle Weight: 7473
Dry Ship Weight: 9078
GVWR: 11565

I just figured that this was typical. We have not done any serious looking yet as this RV idea just cropped up about a week ago or so.
Do to age and the admiral wanting to settle down 'somewhere', this idea has come up. We are going to list our boat in a few weeks.
Here is our plan: We are currently on the Tennessee River in NW Alabama. Our 'home port' is Dallas, Tx. but thinking of Galveston Bay area.
We are going to list boat while at the same time plan on one final HooRah - The Great Loop. That is where we start heading to the Mississippi River, go south to Gulf of Mex., make a left and follow the coast to florida, make another left and go up the east coast. When I get to NY, go up the Hudson River and near Albany area, make another Left onto the Erie Barge Canal to the Great lakes and then down the Mississippi River to our starting point and sell the boat then.
If however, we sell the boat before the start of our trip next fall, we will immediately jump into RVing.
