Yeah, those Giant steps are very solid and will work even a little off camber without tipping over on you. I have the 3 step version thinking that the first step out of the camper would be down on to the top step. It works but I wish I'd have bought the 4 step ladder so the 1st step out of the camper was level and not down. The only downside is that I haven't figured out how to transport it yet. The back seat of the truck isn't practical, the front cargo basket has other stuff. I guess it will have to go on the floor in the TC, but I'm concerned it will tear up the flooring or bang around on the cabinets. Either way, as much as I'm tempted to try the Torklift steps (I love all their other products) I think the step ladder is the best fit for me. I am either towing something or hauling a bike rack.
Our 3-step model rides on its back just inside the door and doesn't move. We have a long, skinny throw rug where it sits. I set it up in onto its wheels and roll it in.
We've never had an issue finding a spot for setup solidly. Occasionally I've used a 2x6 under a foot and it doesn't move. My brother's 4-step model "walks" a bit as it gets used. A bungee to the hitch or bumper fixes that.
