New entry ladder

We ended up getting the 3 step, don't really have anywhere to bolt on scissor stairs as you can see in the pic, my wife said they are worth the money, they have made entry a lot better.

We mounted our scissor steps to the side too, to avoid the hitch and boat trailer. Works perfect, makes it easy to go up and swing open the door without having to duck out of the way.

I removed the fold up handle on mine by drilling out the rivets, it then allowed me to get it a bit closer to the camper as well.

Just got back fro our first trip with the new step ladder. Perfect, nice deep steps no flimsy feeling and the dogs love it.

Insulate the ladder feet.

Have a rubber mat on the ground for users to step on.

Connect an electric fencer to the ladder to surprise the sticky finger ones.

Everyone here told me I was nuts because I wanted to use my TC with the trailer hooked up.

I had to design and fabricate a fold-down landing and custom scissor steps after I tried to rectally implant the step stool I was using to get into the camper up to that point.

We bought the exact same little Giant stepladder (4 step). It is awesome and very stable. The fact that the top handle can fold down out of the way is huge. An expensive sucker though, so I will probably keep it locked to a hook on the flatbed so it does not wander off.

Our 3-step model rides on its back just inside the door and doesn't move. We have a long, skinny throw rug where it sits. I set it up in onto its wheels and roll it in.

We've never had an issue finding a spot for setup solidly. Occasionally I've used a 2x6 under a foot and it doesn't move. My brother's 4-step model "walks" a bit as it gets used. A bungee to the hitch or bumper fixes that.

I'm in the same dilemma. I always have a trailer when I go places with the truck and camper, and any of the steps that attach to the camper are totally useless for me because there's a trailer in the way.

When towing, why cant you mount your steps to the side like I do. The Glowsteps work by using Northwoods extra bumper side mounting points and a little human ingenuity. The outside ladder works well as a grab handle too. When traveling I just tuck them up and let them hang in position. They do not interfere with the trailer tongue, even while making turns.
