Ladders?

I like my telescoping ladder. My motorhome has a ladder but I do not trust it to be securely attached.

:) Hi, at home I use an extension ladder, but prefer the telescoping type. While camping a gust of wind broke my rear vent lid off. I was loaned a telescoping ladder and the broken lid was duct taped back in place just before a heavy rain storm moved in. As for the permanently mounted ladders they seem to be just a rack for strapping******on them that could fall off right in front of me at freeway speeds.

I carry this 13 Ft Werner ladder. It's rated for 300 lbs. I'm about 325 and have no worries using it. I bought it on sale for $79 for camping use. I also used it as one of the ladders I primed and painted the old aluminum siding on my house with.

I also bought theseextension ladder pads to protect the side of the trailer.

Had the Little Giant type ladder before I bought the trailer. Its a great stable well built product with many uses. I use it as well for the trailer. I may try out one of those light weight storable ladders at some point.

If you are not looking for a portable ladder, I'd recommend a Little Giant or the Werner knock-off. They are a bit heavy but are much more sturdy that a common step ladder. A few years ago I was climbing down on a cheap 6' A-frame and it shifted and I fell from about 3 feet, landing on a window well. My tibia and fibula snapped and my foot was literally facing backwards. The Werner "multi purpose" ladders can be configured as a step or extension ladder and have a 300 lbs weight capacity. I will never use a traditional step ladder again.

At home I use an extension ladder but on the road,I use the permanent mounted ladder which also serves as a carrier for odd things like chairs/bikes or even my sat dish.

I carry this folding ladder Link . Being 7ft long and only about 4" square, it stores nicely in the front storage compartment. I hardly notice it is even in there when packing and unpacking. I use it to clear the slides of leaves and debris. I'm 220lbs and it is very sturdy. I wouldn't use it as a work ladder as the rungs are too narrow for long term comfort. I think it is perfect for camping.
