Hope the OP posts his GVWR and RGAWR to end this speculation whether he has the higher half ton of the family of half tons...
Does the XLT mean it is the same as my GMC XLT....or does the Max Tow package only come on one GVWR/RGAWR?...or does he have the HDPP ?....or does he have the Max Payload ?...or does the OP have a 7 lug wheels ?....or does the OP have factory installed LT tires ?
Silly...he could settle this with posting the GVWR & RGAWR
Where are the guys who always say TV braking is nothing to do with trailer braking...as the trailer's brakes takes care of that, so no TV braking needed for the trailer?
As for the larger brakes...'one' reason is that today's TV's comes with larger dia wheels/tires...which has a higher centrifugal force that dictates higher braking performance. Older era TV's could skid their tires too...but larger brakes does increase the duty rating and increases the modulation curve for braking, a very good thing
