MAX TOW option per fleet ford;
Available on XL, XLT, LARIAT, King Ranch®, and Platinum models.
Includes:
• 3.55 Electronic-locking rear-axle
• 4-pin/7-pin wiring harness
• 36 Gallon fuel tank
• Auxiliary transmission oil cooler
• Engine oil cooler
• Class IV trailer hitch receiver
• Pro Trailer Backup Assist with Tailgate LED
• Smart Trailer Tow Connector (standard on LARIAT and higher)
• Integrated Trailer Brake Controller
• Upgraded front stabilizer bar
• Upgraded rear bumper
Nothing there that increases a F150's load carrying capacities.
I see F150 owners with the 6800 gvwr and 3800 rawr with max tow option asking if the truck will pull a XXXXX lb trailer. After its explained the 3800 rawr can't carry the weight they usually come back with a "...but it has the max tow option". Then they realize the truck won't tow max loads or tow ratings.
Ford needs to rename this package as it confuses folks that don't have the experience to know what to look at.
