PS...with most TV's today having rear disc brakes...those pictures won't apply, as the caliper will hold the busted axle in the axle tube
But...the axle is still busted, just safer from tossing it out. Depending on where it broke...there might be metal debris from that event inside the pumpkin and metal debris inside it is NOT a good thing...
