Showing my age here. I do not want the electronic nannies in a vehicle. As a matter of fact, when I bought my SUV I looked long and hard to find a base vehicle without the electronic wizardries and saved over 10 grand in doing so. I can keep my vehicle in my lane and I can brake when needed and I know how to parallel park. The SUV I bought tells me to pull over and have a cup of coffee after a number of hours of driving. Standard feature and I don't drink coffee. Every electrical device I have owned has gone blue screen at one time or another. When that happens I don't want my truck steering me and the trailer into a ditch.
I read the new VW Arteon has a feature that if it detects that the driver has limited involvement with driving then it vibrates the wheel a couple of times. No response, it pulls over to the slow lane, stops the vehicle and turns on the flashers. Not for me. When I get so old that I need that stuff to keep me safe I will quit towing.
Now, those heated seats are a whole different matter.
