New Gears.... now what???
I posted another thread on swapping my 3.23 gears for 4.10 on my RWD 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3L and 4 speed auto (4L60e). I took the truck in this morning and picked it up about 2 hours ago...

As far as I know there is no gas tuner that can be changed on the fly. It has to be reprogrammed to change them. I have 3 tunes for my V-10 Excursion. I mostly use the the tow tune, as that is all the X sees anymore. I have the Exonomy, Towing and Performance tunes all in 89 oct. I was going to get he performance tune in 93 octane but it would be a pain to have to switch gas like that all the time. I just keep them all 89 and it has been good.
Just remember with custom tunes you don't want all out performance, you want a good compromise between power, shifting and safety (power train longevity). I know 5start tunes that I have tunes just like that. I believe black bear also tunes in the same manner. I think 5 star is also doing GM's now so give them a call, they are very easy to work with.
