New Gears.... now what???
I posted another thread on swapping my 3.23 gears for 4.10 on my RWD 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3L and 4 speed auto (4L60e). I took the truck in this morning and picked it up about 2 hours ago...

I disagree that a tune has no effect on driving. It can have a huge effect if done correctly. Engines from the factory were severely detuned back in the early 2000's to keep the MPG's up and legislators happy.
I'm not looking for a race truck but I want the engine operating the way it was designed to operate. The cars and trucks coming off the line now with 400 to 1000 HP aren't magical engines. They're tuned differently and breathe better. I took care of the breathing better part 2 years ago when I added a CAI and cat-back exhaust. Now I'm looking to tune out the detuning that the manufacturer tuned in 12 years ago.
