With 3 42 rear I have there is no reason for me to change the gears. Ill get better gas mileage on highway. Gears are just for moving mass off the line.
With tow haul allows to wind the 5.3 up in its power band. The 5.3 has plenty under the hood.
This is why I find it strange you have 4 11's and want to drop $400 for a tune for a measly 10 hp.
The 4L65E would be the heavy duty trans replacement for your truck...

I've been looking at the 4l80e. I think it's a little longer so new drive shaft would be in order. I've not heard anything about the 4l65e.
