New guy looking at f150 5.4 and 5.0
I haven't bought a trailer yet but looking in the 6500-7500 GVW . As far as a tow vehicle I was looking at either a 2010 f150 5.4 w/ 3.73 rear and max trailer package. Or a 2011 and up f150 with 5.0 ...

The latest versions of the 5.4L was specified at 310 hp @ 5k rpm's and 365 ft lbs tq @ 3500 rpm's. The 5.0L is 360 hp @ 5500 rpm's and 380 ft lbs tq at 4250 rpm's. I think that is a slight edge to the 5.0 due to newer technology. The 5.4L does deliver the torque at a lower rpm which can be beneficial when towing.
