New guy looking at f150 5.4 and 5.0
I haven't bought a trailer yet but looking in the 6500-7500 GVW . As far as a tow vehicle I was looking at either a 2010 f150 5.4 w/ 3.73 rear and max trailer package. Or a 2011 and up f150 with 5.0 ...

I don't know how you're going to find a max tow used. They are quite rare down here in truck country, can't imagine they are more common in NY.
If you work for a mid size or larger company, you might inquire with your HR if you have a X-plan purchasing privilege thru Ford. At least worth looking into. I don't know which options you are looking at, but the 2014 FX4 4x4 crew cab with 5.0 V8 x-plan starts at 39,700 and you take incentives off of that number, in my area is another 1,500 off, 2013 incentives should be higher.
