New Jeep Pickups

I wonder what the load capacity will be. Enough for a small 4 Wheel pop-up TC? Flat tow exploration vehicle? Probably too pricey, but pretty cool.

  • Four Wheel Fleet perhaps? That would make a good combo or toad also. Looking forward to seeing them. Thanks for the info
  • I like number 2 with the painted steel wheels and regular cab and the Michigan Manufacturers plate of course. Looks a lot like the old Galadiator. Probably would handle a 4 Wheel Camper Grandby nicely.

I heard they will be built in Toledo on the Stickney assembly line.

Looks to me like it is badged 'Gladiator', hard to read on the side of the top picture.

Built on a Wrangler platform with a soft suspension I wouldn't expect it to be able to carry much. The Wrangler only has between 1000 and 1300lbs available payload.

Agree. It's suppose to have the Dana 44 rear axle which would definitely limit it to around those numbers.
  • Not only weak axles but weak engine also. I've been waiting all my life for a diesel Jeep Wrangler that would at least get some decent fuel mileage (lifetime average on my Rubicon is 16.4 mpg) and have some low end torque, and had been reading that we'd see a diesel version this past fall. Didn't happen...just checked the Jeep build site and the only engine offered is the 3.6 V6. But at least they're finally offering an 8-speed automatic which I hear is pretty good...the 6 speed manual in my current Rubi sounds like it is about to fall apart.
  • So it will be closer to a Chevy Colorado than a 1500...
  • Jeeps are way overpriced, underpowered cheaply made junk.
You can buy a F150, a Silverado, or even a Dodge 4X4 with a turbo charged V6 or better yet big V8 motors that have about 150 more horses under the hood than a Jeep does, for the same price. The trucks can be flat towed, they seat up to 6 people, not just four. Drive so much better at highway speeds, try driving a Jeep at 75 MPH, it's like driving a roller skate.
  • ^ Agree 100% But......omg those are freakin cool! Hope jeep goes through with it. They’ll sell a million of em. 3.0 diesel new tech scrambler crew cab = AWESOME!
