New Member and New Owner of Campsite Ultra 19KB

Hello All,

New member, new to RVing, and new owner of a Forest River Campsite Ultra 19KB. We have one short trip under our belt to a local campground. Everything went really well and now looking forward to many more trips.

Glad to finally be a part of the RVing community!

I’ve been known to skip a pill or two occasionally for a couple of days but I don’t drive on those days.

  • Thanks for the tips. Apparently, my fridge is a 12 volt. Not sure if it requires a level, but I know I need to level to put the slide out so there is that. This parking was a quick park to load up some stuff but I will definitely keep that in mind for the future.

Not sure what got a couple folks twitterpated about fridge being level.
But it is good to actually know what components are in your camper, yours being likely not an absorption fridge, it’s not even a concern.
However if it was a good ole absorption fridge, math tells you that a 2% x slope (standard street/road x slope is about 1 degree. So disregard the warnings even if it’s an absorption fridge.

12V doesnt say much, my 35 year old fridge iw 120V/12V/propaane.  the difference is is yours a 12V compressor fridge, if it is then don't worry about being level.  you main worry will be if you have enugh battery when you are camping with out hookups

  • One suggestion. Usually parking in front of your home isn’t level side to side because of the gutter. If you are running an absorption fridge, level the trailer. Doesnt take long to ruin a fridge.

it is far less than the 6 degrees side to side and 3 degrees back to front bay looking at the picture.   anything generaly with in thoes specs are ok.  but ya I wouldnt run it at the limits.

Isn’t the rule 3 degrees side to side and 6 front to back?

Sweet trailer.  I love that many of the Forest River TTs have such large basement doors.  Our Ozark is very similar and we didn't really think about the basement door sizes until we started walking around campgrounds. How do people get some of their stuff in those little doors?  My 6' step ladder fits easily down there.

And the rear door straight to the bathroom is very convenient. People don't have to walk through the bedroom area nor the kitchen.

Thanks! I’ve got everything In that pass through. Fortunately, the smaller door on the other side is still big enough to get the stuff I need on that side in. Especially handy since there isn’t much storage for bigger stuff any where else.  We have been on three trips so far.  I think we have it just about dialed in. The last thing I want to do is install support struts on the overhead cabinet doors and the bed platform storage.

  • Thank you! Plans are to travel around the West to start. Any suggestions for cooler summer destinations heading out of Southern California?
