Sep 11, 2014The bad part about NADA is that it is the National Automobile Dealer Association. All of their values are based off of sale data reported from the dealers. Their values tend to be on the high side since dealers can easily get more money for a trailer than it's worth. There's no real devaluation for poor condition either. They say that the low retail is a devaluation, but it really just represents the low end of the "sold for" prices. There's no way a trailer in poor condition is still be worth $25,000 when a new one is $28,000. RV Trader and Craigslist is just an extension of the NADA Guide really. Since NADA is the only good free source out there, private parties base their asking price off of the guide. Looking at the sold prices from auctions like Ebay is another source.
