I had to wire a switch inside but other than that it was pretty easy. The factory one sucks.

so where did you get this one??

Its a smart light 1000 they come in black and white. I purchased it from Amazon. As I was looking for one I chose to get the one with the LED lamp included I believe it was $43.99.

how did you track the wire inside the wall to install the switch?

Well, I narrowed down which fuse supplied the power. It was the power vent circuit. I followed the route of the vents to a compartment in the ceiling where there was a cover over the wiring. That is where I found the connection. I cut the hot wire capped one and ran another wire from a spare fuse circuit in the fuse box, mounted a switch on the wall to break the circuit and there you have it. :)

  • I put one a year or two ago. I like it but the corner sensor covers deteriorated after a year and turned to dust.

I understand they have fixed the problem.
  • I have 3 outside lights on my camper, but I take one of those from my garden and clamp it to the ladder.
Makes great security light and pretty bright one.
Downside is that the batteries will not last for long, so not something for packing.
But would I need it for that, I would figure out power supply from camper battery.
    LED just sip the power.

They sell for $39 at HF

  • We installed one of those also. It has motion sensors built into it and also comes with a yellow lens so that it's not so bright. Getting the motion sensor to work all of the time is a little quirky, but I think it's more on our end than the lights end. One of these days I'll read the manual again. All and all, a nice light. I'd tell you who makes it, but the MH is a long ways away.
