I would not let it bother me since they are not going to have this pump unless the issues were resolved. Yes it has been very quiet for a while with Ford pump stories.
Yet, you last February:Now as mentioned ya may want to look at trucks from the last 5 model years. IMHO the RAM trucks have proven to be very dependable with their electronics and drivetrains. Also they have the gold standard Bosch CP3 injection pump. GM and Ford used the CP4, GM gave up on that with so many warranty claims they now use the Denso pump.
Seems odd that the CP4 is suddenly fine in your opinion because Ram is using it now. I think it's still a steaming pile of ****, FWIW. Even if they've gotten somewhat more reliable in newer iterations, they still grenade the fuel system when they fail which makes it a much more significant fix compared to a failed CP3 unit. It's just a bad design, end of story.
LOL... I spewed coffee on my office monitor this morning when I read cummins12v98 response.

The one BIGGIE IMHO that sucks is the 32 gallon tank!
the first thing that comes out is the stock tank. I'll put a titan 55 gal replacement in, with 7600# of payload I think I can carry a couple extra gallons of fuel.

I'm not seeing anything here that makes me think GM will win any contests. they still can't tow 24,000 pounds always be a day late and dollar short
They has won far more than they have lost and I cant recall a third place finish, could be be one but I dont remember it. That could change with this Cummins, but at this point there isn't a basis for the claim. The claimed specs have seldom told the whole story. So we will wait until they run the hill and see what happens. If the Dmax takes third I would agree they should go back to the drawing board. There is a first time for everything. - Cummins12V98Explorer IIILooks like the spin on RAYCOR filter is gone and replaced with a canister type pre filter under the bed.

I'm waiting for GM to announce big tow numbers and the EXPLANATION of how they did it.
Among the current GM's there is not a combo that can tow this RV within it's SAE specs. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

I just got rid of two trucks because they had the CP4. It is always in the back of your mind when and if she's going to blow... Not a great feeling.
How are you so sure that Ram is going to cover the pump if you have problems?
If it's a warranted item and it is it will be covered. 5 year 100k powertrain warranty. - ShinerBockExplorer

No there is no demand for US Pickups, nice niche product though, that is "course not coarse." HD Pickup market Globally is a misnomer, very few are sold anywhere outside NA.What percentage Cummins who knows ? Your best bet for Cummins demand is the NA market
I would not say no demand because that would imply that there is none. There is demand and there are sales outside the US even if there few. Most regions cannot affordour trucks or their infrastructure do not support them.
Also, you cannot mix up global Cummins pickup demands for global engine demands which is what I was talking about earlier in the post you quoted. Cummins has a strong market share globally with their engines and just recently removed the EGR, "not DEF", from their global engines since global NOx emissions are less strict than US. - gmcsmokeExplorer
