Anybody heard a timeline for the new Ram redesign release date? With all this news about the new Super Duty it would be nice to hear something from FCA. Are they going to use Aluminum? What about any new engines or output upgrades? I wish they'd start some suspense or something to perk our interest.

I took the Cummins 6.7 factory tour at the CMEP plant at Columbus, IN today.Word is that they will no longer build the 6.7 for Freightliner for the 2017 model year as they do now. It will be built at another plant, can't remember what one.Big news is they are working on the 2019 6.7 Cummins for the RAM trucks. The Columbus facility will only be building the 6.7 for the RAM at the Cummins Columbus Facility for 2017 and beyond.

The Ram is so much more truck than F or GM already, we'll be OK.

The current Ram's are super nice rigs. I'd like to get a new truck in the next year or two and it will most likely be a CC pickup. I like everything about the Rams, but I'll probably lean heavily towards the Fords just because my Excursion (my first Ford ever) has hands down been the best vehicle I've ever owned. It has just shy of 200k miles and still looks great and does everything I ask of it. That said, I'm definitely not brand loyal and will be watching Ram closely. I love their interiors.

There is a bunch of MH's using the 6.7 power plant mated to a Allison 2500 or 3000 lately.

Hey, if you want a truck made in the USA, you should buy a Tundra. Consistently the most domestic content since 2007...

The fact is this a LAM thread... Not a GM or Ford as some would like to spin it. Doesn't change the fact Ford trucks are the most American made trucks on the road today and GM is moving the truck production to the states. That leaves Lam trucks the only truck built in mexico that's owned by a foreign company... your move Sergio... Thank you very much! :B

It's interesting in the article that GM finally woke up and acknowledged that most truck owners want their trucks to be "Made in the USA". I couldn't have said it better. :B

February 9, 2016. San Luis Potosi, Mexico. (ONN) News reports this weekend announced that Ford would be opening a new manufacturing plant in Mexico and expanding another factory near Mexico City. Upon completion, the plants will produce three-times as many Fords as the country currently manufactures. Once the most well known American company, a recent report from Forbes Magazine confirms that Fords are not made in the USA anymore, only partially built or assembled.

Here’s a trick question - how many Ford cars and trucks are manufactured in the United States each year? That’s difficult to answer for two reasons. One, the company only reports the number of vehicles manufactured in each continent. In the case of North America, the number is 2.9 million, just under half of all the Fords made in the entire world annually.

The other problem is that cars and trucks aren’t made in one spot anymore. The parts are made in different factories and then shipped to an assembly plant in a separate location all together. And unfortunately, ‘American made’ cars like Ford are no longer American-made.

According to the most recent results of Fortune Magazine’s annual list of American made vehicles, there are only seven cars or trucks actually made in the USA. And none of them are Fords. To qualify as being ‘American made’, at least 75% of the vehicle must be manufactured in the US.

Im not brand loyal, and usually read these threads just for the humor. Of the big three, I do like my Ram CTD the best and I liked my 2005 Ram 1500 alot as well. After that it's probably ford then GM.

Mercedes has no reason to import trucks here, simply because they have owned Freightliner for 35 years.
