Stay with the Duramax. Don't be foolish.
I had 3 D/A's f from 03' thur 2010, one heck of a truck, will never say anything bad about that combo...BUT, nothing foolish about going to a Cummins/68RFE, or the Cummins/Aisin (pronounced eye-sun)....The Cummins is a medium duty 6 cylinder diesel engine and when you add the Aisin, you've strapped a medium duty transmission to it...When I purchased my first Dodge dually Cummins with 68RFE because it was so much better looking inside and out than the Chevy, I thought I'd REALLY, REALLY miss the allison and possibly have messes up by going with the Dodge..nope...I'm on my 3rd. Ram now and love them..The Chevy/D/A is great and so is the Cummins with the Aisin. So Chevy/GM or Ram, don't see how you can go wrong or "be foolish" by owning either one of them..
