Having a bit too much power is better than not enough... Doh! And I know stating the obvious... :)
But, you bring up a good point about the elevation. I live at just under 8000 ft and my 2000W Champion will not power my small RV Microwave or even my small Kuerig Coffee maker by itself where I live as I tried it where both units were independently plugged directly into the running generator. I know it will not power my 13,500 BTU AC. But 8000 ft is not even that high here in CO.
Just a couple of weeks ago I was at Taylor Park and the low elevation there is around 9300 ft.
Again, wish I would have opted for the 3100W Champion. Now, unless I go the route of selling the 2000W and buy the larger 3100W unit, I will need to get a second 2000W Champion along with the Parallel Operation kit.
