New ride!

Just got it yesterday....sold my Jeep & bought a muscle truck. 1995 Dakota, regular cab, shortbed, 2WD...with V8 power. :) Solid frame & body, just needs front brakes.

Since when is a Dakota a "Muscle Truck".....really?

Geez, do you rain on parades in your spare time?

If OP has fun with it does it matter if it meets the non-existent technical definition of a muscle car/truck?

Ever since it was the ONLY non-full sized truck with a V8.

  • Congrats!

Always liked that generation of Dakotas, and with the V8 your power-to-weight ratio should mean that will be a fun little truck to drive.
  • Mine even came with the window sticker (!), and it looks like the original owner ordered it as a muscle truck! GVWR is 4780, and GCWR is 10,500lbs, it was built in Toledo.

    It's a Sport ($10,994), ordered with buckets & console ($379)...also has:

    Light group (?) ($78)
    HD suspension ($41--bargain!)
    Trailer tow prep ($333!)
4-wheel ABS ($500...rear ABS was standard)
    Power windows & locks ($371)
    Automatic ($927)
    3.90 axle ($39) with Sure-Grip ($257)
    5.2 Magnum ($1287)
    A/C ($797)
    Stripe delete ($0)
    Tilt column ($140)
The premium Infinity sound system ($300)

The final sticker was $16,398...not bad for a pretty-well loaded muscle truck!

But geez...all that and no cruise control?!?!
  • I had about that same year. 318, 5 speed, but with 4x4. It was a great truck!
