- 69_AvionExplorerThat is a fine looking trailer. I think you can enjoy that for many years.
- SuperiorBoundExplorerLove it, classy and clean. Enjoy
- jwickerExplorerI believe the AC is OEM to the 1991 Skamper.
They put a new shroud on it and added the vent covers as well.
thanks all ! - 2012ColemanExplorer III think you have a great setup. The color is a fresh change from white - no stickers either. The AC unit looks newer as well. Hope you have many happy times!
- Villain2000ExplorerI would be willing to bet you have airplane gears in that Blazer. Find someone to swap in some 3.73's or 3.92's and you'll be golden. After all, this would have been a common combination of tt and tv back in the day. The great thing about those old Chevy's is that they are cheap an easy to work on and parts are plentiful. Love it by the way!
- campknitterExplorerVery cool setup!
- dadmomhExplorerVery nice! Looks like it was well cared for. Enjoy!
- Peg_LegExplorerUse the new jack to lift the tongue once you have it hitched to the truck. I always lifted it until I heard the strain increase on the motor. I could then latch up the chains bare handed with out a cheater bar. When unhitching in this manner always check that you can move the chains with you hand before unlatching bare handed. Just give them a wiggle to make sure they aren't under tension.
- Poppy___NanaExplorerThat is a sweet set up and I (DW) love the color!
- jwickerExplorerThanks to all for the warm welcome and compliments !
I'll have to work on a better load balanced hitch next time.
I'll admit that with the short 'leverage rod' (~10 inches), I cop out and only put the last link of the ~9 link chain on the hook.
Maybe I need a longer leverage rod?
I've heard that as long as I have 5 links showing, it's a matter of finesse.
???
The bars don't quite sit parallel with the A frame, but it's close. I generally crank up the tongue jack (manually) to level out the truck/trailer combination before attaching the load balancing arms.
I have a Barker VIP 3500 electric jack arriving tomorrow via FedEx, so that part should be easier here out.
Any suggestions appreciated !
thanks again.
