- Caboose66ExplorerI have to say that this is refreshing. Perfectly fine truck and trailer rig that is just vintage enough to be cool... Especially with that trailer color. I wouldn't change that color for anything.
Thanks for the breath of fresh air. I've been looking for the last couple of months and going over and over in my mind all the things that I "have to have" in a new travel trailer... Comparing this brand to that brand looking for what's new. Besides being a nice looking and cool combination, your setup is a good reminder that we are in it to get out and have fun... Especially with the youngsters. Your 3 year old will have some really great memories of times in that truck and trailer.
Not to say I'm not going to keep on looking for just the right new trailer, but this was a nice respite from that.
Have a great time!!
Dean - J4hartsExplorerAnother happy camper from Indy!! Nice trailer, Enjoy making memories!!
- Peg_LegExplorerI always wanted a Blazer with the removable top. Nice.
"Squirrely above 55mph", check your hitch weight. Do some searching and you can find out how to do this with a bathroom scale. You need 12-15% of the trailers weight on the hitch for a stable pull. It looks to be level in the pic, a light front end will add to the squirrely feel.
"Struggles to get above 45mph uphill", it may just be geared on the high side for better gas mileage. If the throttle goes over 75% I'd just drop a gear and not push her to hard. To nice of a looking rig to abuse her.
ENJOY! - IndyCampExplorerThat trailer is in great shape for the age.
Good to see some more Hoosiers on here. I'll be looking for you at the campgrounds. I'm sure you won't be too hard to find! - AndymonExplorerthat's cool and so retro!
- MvanderExplorerLooks good. If your happy with it then you didnt over pay.
- bradnailerExplorerSweet!
- jwickerExplorerI think I overpaid....but not by much. I justified it with the new mattress (~ $400 custom made in local mattress factory), full LP tanks (~ $300), and interior condition.
We looked at some a lot cheaper - including some newer ones). ROUGH.
Bumps and bruises don't bother me. major water damage and funky smells do.
ha
thanks
jw - KopsKamper2ExplorerI think you have a gem there and I love the color too! Happy camping with the new addition.:)
- Francesca_KnowlExplorerThanks for the inside pics.
I'm so jealous...please don't tell us what you paid for that beauty as it will no doubt only rub salt in the wound. :B
By the way:
I think your wife is right about the color- it's bee-you-tee-ful!
