"New school" tow mirrors on and old school truck

I'm about to acquire a 1991 Chevy K2500 Light duty from my neighbor. I saw a similar vintage Suburban with the 06+ style tow mirror on it, and said to myself "WOOHOO... I NEED THOSE!"

The two trucks in my sig run the same mirrors, though I sold the 06 earlier this year.

A little Googling and it didn't take long to find them. Ebay and Amazon have numerous sellers with them. Some even have the 2015.5+ style mirrors that fit the 88-98 trucks.

Has anyone every installed the new style mirrors (made to fit the old trucks) on their older truck?

Here's some examples:

2006-2014 style mirrors for 88-98

  • I guess it would make an older truck look more modern. I actually prefer the old stainless swing out camper mirrors over the new style plastic elephant ear mirrors.
  • GMT800 style or GMT K2XX style mirrors on a GMT400 series truck.

Title has a typo, should read "an", not and.
