new shocks?

My tow vehicle is a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS 2WD. I tow a Jayco 28BHS. I need new shocks on my truck. Can someone recommend a good basic shock that won't break the bank? Thanks.

If you are referring to Rock Auto having the best price on the WEB, that is one thing, but if referring to getting less than the best shocks to save a couple bucks different story.

Bilstien's are not cheap, but they work great! Expect to pay about $300 to $350 for a set of four.
  • I just ordered a set of Bilstein 4600 shocks for my truck. I have been running them since 2001.

  • On my last truck when new shocks were needed I installed Monroe Sensa trac shocks. for the rear I got the Monroe Sensa Trac load adjusting shocks. Very happy with the ride and performance. Tim

I love our Bilstein 5100 shocks. It was a huge difference in handling while towing over the stock shocks.

The 4600 series shocks are for stock height trucks. 5100 series are if your truck is lifted, even if just slightly.

    X2!
I also have 5100's, but the 4600's will do you great!
