That's a fact! My wife and I came down with such a severe case that we ended up buying the land adjacent to one of our favorite boondocking sites, built an off-grid house, and are, essentially, boondocking fulltime. ;)
LS - travelnutzExplorer IINope, we don't have the disease at all. RV camped in Michigan where we live and the area up north till in December punctuated by a week spent in Cabo Mexico in a fine resort and then in the first week of January after being in the 50's and 60's during Christmas/New Years time at home and no snow either as usual, hooked up the 5th wheel and been in Florida with it since and we'll head back to Michigan about the 15th of March with it. Got to be back anyway before the end of March because wife has Doc appointments.
80's daytime down but chilly at night here and in the 60's back home where it's gorgeous and we'd much rather be anytime. Even if we didn't go south for a couple months in winter, we'd still be camping back in Michigan where lots of CG's are open all winter and the clean snow landscape is so beautiful. Wife is disabled and has had 19 operations and often uses a walker on bad days and doesn't want to chance slipping on a snow packed etc area. Says 19 was more than enough and doesn't want any more!
Clean off your RV and use it all year long and you won't suffer a bit from the disease you won't get... - profdant139Explorer IIThe worst is when it morphs into a more serious condition -- boondockia. No known cure.
- RVcircusExplorer III got it bad and the cure is a week away still.
- KittykathExplorer IIThis blasted iwanagocampingitis has caused my carpet to wear from pacing and nose prints on my windows. I'd settle for a dose of driveway camping to take the edge off. Once the ground dries up around the shed where our camper's parked, we can haul her home, and the iwanagocampingitis should be cured.
- rexlionExplorerYes, it's making me really itch... to go camping. Fortunately next week is spring break week for me. No TT on hand right now, so I'll break out the tent for this one.
- Army11BravoExplorer IIThe snow is gone early, and we can't wait. Temperatures in Montana need to rise still.
- bogie514ExplorerGuilty, er.... have it too. I even took it so far as to go out in the camper this evening and cooked dinner for my wife and me. I also fondled my kayaks for a moment or two and promised them in a soft voice that they would be on the water soon.
- skilesExplorerI'm infected. It's supposed to be in the 70's this week here. That is only going to make this fever worse! We have a trip planned for Spring Break. It can't get here soon enough.
- myredracerExplorer IIMan oh man, I have it bad. The weather lately hasn't helped. Have had the occasional day or two of sunny & warm T-shirt weather and I get all jacked up. Then it goes away. Today was p*ssing rain and really cold and quite unpleasant.
Am resolved not to succumb and have been in the ol' RV lately cleaning it up, doing a couple of mods and a few minor repairs. It's about the only thing that keeps me going...
Our first camping weekend is coming up quickly on the Easter weekend and the weather better be nice for once.
