New stereo?

We have the original Audiovox AM/FM/cassette player in our TT. The opening in the overhead cabinet is 14-5/8" x 4-1/2", which is huge. If we were to replace it with a radio/CD/DVD player, what should we look for? I cannot imagine filling that hole, unless I make some sort of cover plate.

What are good bang for the buck systems?

    Good luck.

We're Amazon Prime members. Would you mind sharing which unit you are looking at?

    Grandpa,
I don't know which Pioneer you're looking at, and they make good stuff generally, but if it has the round rotary dial that you swivel around to change settings, you might want to think again. The wife had a Pioneer like that in her Infinity and hated it. Worked great, but she could never figure out how to work it completely. Look for something simple to operate IMO.

I can go along with that! It seems that factory stereos in our cars/trucks, and in our TT, come with large, easy-to-use buttons. After market units tend to have small buttons, are more complicated, and are much more difficult to use with my big fingers.
  • Fallsrider- it was the FH-X700BT

Ron3rd- I have looked all over for a simple to use unit. They don't seem to make an old fart car stereo anymore. Oh, well.

Hmm, I did not consider looking for an OEM unit; that might work. I really like mine in the Frontier. I'm gonna look into that before a final decision. No hurry, I got all winter.
