We would be interested in attending.
The last time we went (Pigeon Forge) there was a hotrod rally. The campgrounds were packed, but that was in May or June. The campgrounds know when the big event are being scheduled so can advise when it is less crowded(letting the TCers socialize in one area).
I was there once in late January. Outstanding time to go but a bit cold, the water froze at the hose one night. Still had a great trip. They keep the Christmas decorations/lights up for some time after Christmas. We drove from the campground (Eagle's Nest on Wears Valley road) to Gatlinburg and back to the campground in about 20 minutes. In the summer, that same trip sometimes takes 3 to 4 hours. The wife and I enjoy taking the trolley (not having to drive)to see everything.
Many years ago we stayed at Cherokee, NC on the other side of the mountain. The campground didn't have a meeting hall. June night time temps were upper 30's and low 40's that year. Much more peaceful but you have to go over the mountain to get to the park and that's not a long way but takes a while.(More rustic campgrounds)
Townsend is closer to the park but we've never stayed there and we've never stayed in Gatlinburg.
We'll look forward to a get together.
