Well, this is the Volunteer State, isn't it? Until recently I was was the one to set up the office Christmas party. The trick was always to do as btggraphix said and just pick a time and place, announce it, and stand back when all the hungry folk came a runnin'.
So I've done some lookin' and have picked out a couple possibilities for a gathering site in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Townsend area. I'll try to visit one or more of them in a few weeks.
In the meantime, it would help if I had an idea of the level of interest. I don't want to nail the time down too tight until I make arrangements with a campground but I'm thinking sometime in SEP. I know the earlier discussion was springtime but I've got some family issues that makes SEP better for me and the rest of my TC kin and this will also allow folks more time to plan. SEP is still not prime fall color season according to the campground rates so shouldn't be too crowded.
OK, now I counted up those who have already expressed some interest and came up with 24 but many of these were assuming a spring date. How many would be interested in meeting up in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Townsend area sometime in SEP?
Edited to show SEP is not off-season but is still not prime season for the campgrounds under consideration. I was originally writing this for MAR which IS off-season :R
