Just bought some new Lt 245/70/17 tires max tire pressure on tire says 80 lb my door sticker says 35 lb I have a 1500 silverado do I need to put 80 lb or 35 in the tires the tires are general grabbers I tow a 6500 lb camper any thoughts from ant body would help. Thanks

Is the tire size the same as that on the factory placard? If so, then the cold tire pressure is what's recommended. You can always check the factory recommendations from General Tire.

Your door sticker is no longer relevant. Call your tire shop and ask for the weighting scale for your tire. You'll have to weigh your rig fully loaded and then you can adjust your psi to the actual load. That will be an extremely rough ride if you put 80 psi in them, besides being completely overkill for any load you will be putting on them.

Also try to find out what the MAX PSI is for the wheels!!!! I have had no issues running 50psi in my old 2k Chevy-16" Al Rim, or my '10 Chevy-18" Al rim, but not sure they are rated for 80 psi.When I had my new A/T3's installed, I asked Discount Tire to look for a max psi in the wheel, but no info anywhere to be found on the stock rim.Is there a reason you went with an LR E over a LR C?Chris

Got a great deal on them 450.00 out the door 50.00 to install and balance going to do chalk test see what that does for me

These tire pressure are based on the weights on my axles.

You will not need 80# in tires at anytime because you will not be at MAX LOAD
(6400# on axle/tires).

If tire size is same as OEM tires....then run what your sticker states
