I looked into updating my converter and it seems like an easy kit to install to get a 3 stage orv4 stage charger. All of these seem suitable for wet lead acid batteries. I have a gel cell and can seem to find info on whether these lots support the lower acceptance voltage and higher float voltages for maintaining these batteries. I want to keep it reliable but I don't want to remove the gel cell to keep it simple too. I'm leaning towards installing a few solar panels for charging with a good mppt charge controller. That might bypass the need for a plug in charger but there may still be situations where I need an AC charger. Does anyone know of a drop in 3 stage charger that will support gel cell bad voltages?
