New to Me Chevy Tahoe

Hey Everyone,

My wife and I picked up a new to us 2011 Tahoe today. We are pretty excited about this one.

Here are the nerdy specs
  • 2011 Tahoe
  • 5.3l V8
  • 6 Speed Transmission
  • 3.08 rear axle
  • 116k miles
  • 2wd (I’ve been looking for years for a good 2wd, they are scarce because most people want a 4x4 or the 2wd are worn out from use)
  • About 1550 lbs of payload
  • 5,500 lbs tow rating
  • IMMACULATE leather interior (minus the broken dash)
  • Runs like a scalded dog

Towing in the future? Probably. A fishing boat for sure. A Travel Trailer? Maybe a small one. I am not really interested in towing a 32 ft TT with this.

Anyway, here is a pic of me and the new to us Tahoe. Looks pretty snazzy

Thanks!

    Thank you!

Also, as to the cylinder deactivation, I will check on that for sure. I thought that was a 2015 and up addition but I will make sure it doesn’t apply to my 2011.

    Thanks!

  • Yes, "snazzy" for sure, and the Tahoe looks great too! Congrats on finding what you wanted!

  • I agree get the chip to stop the cylinder deactivation. I think range is the name. There is one that increases the cylinder deactivation and one that stops it. Make sure to get the one that stops it.

Nice new ride there Jeremiah! I still remember your days with the old F150 and the F350 dually!

Yes sir! From one extreme to the other!

I’m just glad to be back in a bigger vehicle again.

    Thanks!

  • Make sure you get a chip to take the cylinder deactivation out! My wife's had that and it starved the cylinder on the left bank of oil and had to rebuild the engine.
