thanks. i'm by no means an expert on solar or battery banks so any input is welcome. it has a 30 amp go power charge controller that uses pwm rather than mppt. i know it's not the best but unless there is something wrong with it that i'm not aware of i don't plan on upgrading. it says it has built in temperature compensation. i'll look for the catastrophic fuse.
we really only boondock and much of it in the mountains around CO during the winter so it's nice to have the battery capacity. we'll see how the softwall holds up to the cold. i think we're going to take it skiing next weekend so i'll report back. outfitter said they've had theirs out in -25 up in wyoming and were able to keep it 65 inside so we'll see. with the weather the way it has been lately next weekend probably won't be much of a test.
