We have done a seasonal for 5 years now. We come and I as we like, but stay parked from June thru August when the kids are on school vacation. The wife is a teacher so they truly enjoy the camper for three months solid. In the Spring and Fall we enjoy our favorite sites when they slow down. The fair season is a great time here in New England.
As mentioned, shut off your water when leaving. Retract your awning so that you don't need to worry about when gone. Block up your stab jacks, it'll help reduce movement. I also use BAL chocks to further reduce the motion. I leave my slides out but I've always had sled toppers. Be sure to take preventative measures as mice and chippies love to setup camp in a parked unit.
