I think that your good in what your looking for as far as a 1/2 ton truck. For the price you should have no problem finding one within that range. The GM has the 5.3 offering and has been very reliable to point. I know that dodge has the hemi and it has been good as well. The Ford 5.4 had some issues with cam phasers and spark plugs, but again google that up for further. Also look at the tundra but with the 5.7 engine, they seem very reliable and have plenty of power. Crew cab, the Chevy and Ford probably has the largest during those years.
