after a 6 week trip I would never think of pulling with a small SUV. We witnessed Ford SUV nearly lose control when hit by a wind gust. We hardly felt it with the fifth wheel and 2500 pick up. My answer to the weight distribution hitch would be "If you are going to pull a bumper pull trailer with a light vehicle get the weight distribution hitch installed." Or maybe consider a low profile trailer like a pop up.
