With all due respect Bob, I think a 3/4 ton is not totally needed for the two trailers in question.
However, I do agree that a "mid size SUV" is probably going to be too small. In the middle would be vehicles like the 1500 series ( GM twins or Ram ) F150 Ford, or Toyota Tundra. In the same class is the somewhat dated, but "proven" Nissan Titan.
Again though, the numbers "have to work", so, as has been stated, taking a trip to the dealer and looking at actual trucks, opening the doors and reading the stickers.
Either of the trailers in question are going to have tongue weight approaching 700 pounds.
