You may want to consider something like a Traverse or Arcadia, even a Ford Flex. With my family I need the SUV as we use it as our daily driver too.
I second the Chevy Traverse/GMC Acadia. They are a V6 for a good daily driver mpgs and have a 5200lb tow cap IF you get the factory V92 tow package. Cannot be aftermarket tow packages. I'm currently in the market for one. I believe the Flex has a 4500lb tow cap, but the Dodge Durango has a V6 6200lb tow cap. Good Luck. :) - PAThwackerExplorer

We pulled our PUP with an Acura MDX when we started out, it had the same running gear as the pilot / odyssey. The MDX was under powered and when we upgraded to a highwall, it was at the limit. We went with the Expedition so we could move up to a TT eventually and it was a much more pleasant towing experience.

I notice you have an expedition towing a stick and tin 30ft trailer. How is that working for you? - RustycamperpantExplorerWe pulled our PUP with an Acura MDX when we started out, it had the same running gear as the pilot / odyssey. My '08 Highlander has towed cargo and travel trailers for over 140,000 of its 170,000 miles. I use it for work and play. No big problems other than a bout of fluid leaks a year ago, and those problems stopped when I switched from the stealerships to an honest independent garage. I just might shoot for 300k miles with this Toyota, it's too good to get rid of.
"Stealerships"? There isone thing i have learned...... the independence are the real crooks...they have little knowledge of latest products - mileshuffExplorerWe love our 2004 Durango 5.7L Hemi. We pulled a small Hybrid for 10 years. I prefer the 2004-2010 Durangos for towing but the newer Durango's will do well for a popup. Now have 130,000 miles on our D and still going strong.
- mwb521ExplorerThanks guys. We love our pilot. Just seems a little underpowered on hills.
- cooperrobtExplorerKeep the pilot. Only upgrade I might suggest is a transmission oil cooler for those hot summer days.
- coolmom42Explorer IIIf the Pilot tows your pop-up OK, don't get rid of it. You won't find a better or more comfortable vehicle.
- camp-n-familyExplorerAnother Pilot? What's wrong with yours? It should handle a pop up nicely.

Any decent SUV with a 5k rating should tow a popup.
Here it could easily be a car, but generally a midsize SUV
