Hi I sold my 2007 Tahoe and got a 2014 silverado 1500. Towing a 31 foot dutchmen. I hooked up and height looks pretty good and drives well. What is the correct way to set this hitch up for my new vehicle?. Thanks
Just out of curiosity what Silverado did you get. I got a Double Cab with the Work Truck 2 package. GM is very generous when it comes to what is included in a trim level. I have more stuff than my 08 LT model. What engine did you get? The 2014 is a good truck. Sorry for the off topic post. - beemerphile1ExplorerRead the stickies in the towing section of the forum.
- Ron3rdExplorer IIIIf you got the genuine Equal-i-zer brand, just download the instructions and check everything. You'll need to take some before and after measurements to see if you're transferring the proper amount of weight to the front axle. After that if the bars are level and the trailer is level, or slightly nose-down, you're good to go.
Normally when you change trucks, you need to re-adjust. It would be rare that everything is spot on since truck heights, receiver heights, rear suspension, etc, are all different. - aftermathExplorer IIIRead the directions that came with it. If those are history, go online and download a new set. They are pretty straight forward and easy to follow. If you have questions the folks on the end of the phone can be of great help.
