Back in 2005, the base F250 came with 245/70R17 tires and the base F350 came on on the same rims with 265's that were rated over 3500 lbs. I could have chosen those tires as an option, but I was towing a bumper pull TH that never stressed the stock tire capacity even when I had the bed loaded with 1000 lbs of spare tools and parts.
