1. It varies by campground, contact them to see what is available. Some have spigots every 3 to 4 sites (keep a couple hoses in the basement), and some only have the fill station near the dump station.
2. Gray water can be dumped pretty much any time you want, but the black tank needs to be pretty full so all the "stuff" flows out completely. Just have to keep an eye on it and decide as you go.
3. Yes, with experience. What you are doing is the best way to learn. Get some obstacles (traffic cones/buckets..) and practice backing between/ around them. It's all about seat time.
pretty much what i was going to say.
on question #2. not sure what your sewer setup at home is like but i have a 2nd septic tank on a large side yard that is not being used anymore. i installed a "cleanout" on the drain line that looks like what a sewer hookup on campground site would look like. the yard in plenty large enough for me to pull up and dump my tanks, and i have a water faucet close by that i can use to flush the tanks. if we are only camping 2 to 3 nights i tow home with full or close to full tanks and dump at home just because it makes packing up and leaving campsite faster. very good advice on the "almost full" black tank before dumping.
I'm on septic at home but the cleanout cap is probably a good 40 feet from the nearest place I could park the trailer.
