Hi everyone, I am awaiting currently delivery of my tow vehicle, a 2016 Chevy Colorado Z71 with tow package, and I am also negotiating for our first TT, a 2016 Keystone Bullet Crossfire 2070BH.I believe the Colorado will have no trouble pulling this 3765lbs TT with it's 7000lbs towing capacity since I am leaving myself with a lot of room for cargo and passengers.I'm looking for opinions on this setup and this specific TT if people in this forums maybe own one, I will be getting a weight distribution hitch with sway control as well and a proportional trailer brake controller.Thanks for the responses.

I cannot speak to the combo. It seems well within reach. The brake controller is not an option, if you don't have one you have to get one. I would guess the WDH isn't an option either. Look in the manual for the colorado, I would bet it says anything over 5000 lbs and you have to have a WDH. Get a good one and spend more than you really want to..you will be happier in the long run.As for the trailer specs, don't trust the paper, get it weighed at a scale if you can, maybe even prior to buying it if an option. After you load the trailer up with gear, and people in the truck, you will find yourself a lot closer to the number than you might expect.As for how well the v6 chevy pulls, I have no idea. It may be fine, or you may be wishing you bought a v8 silverado..

I think you'd be happier towing with a full size V8 truck in the long run, although that trailer may well be within the comfortable wheelhouse of a Colorado.

I guess the thing I would want to look at is the payload of the truck since it is not a full size truck, be careful not to overload it.

Length-wise I believe you'll be OK. But as GaryWT says, watch your payload.

Can the Colorado handle 800# of tongue weight plus passengers and gear? That is about the tongue weight you are likely to have.

The new GM midsized twins are impressive. Love to have the Z71 Colorado for a DD and puller. I would opt for a smaller trailer though.

I used to think the same thing, but discovered that my 3.5L V6 Highlander is peppier at towing than my old 5L V8 Mercury Mountaineer.

I saw where they are offering this truck with a small diesel. Same payload (~1500#) and max towing weight. Anybody know anything about the I4 diesel?

Since you say "I think about 7", I assume you have never weighed it so you are guessing.

The trailer discussed has a GVWR of 5,849#
12% of that is 701# plus the hitch
or 15% is 877# plus the hitch

Should have about 1400-1500 lbs of payload..more than enough... 300 HP V6 will do the job nicely. My Town & Country's V6 handles near that weight with no problems.

Great choice in a TV...

I don't think that most people realize that a Colorado is bigger than half ton full sized trucks of not long ago.

Took my family of four for a test drive in a 4 door Colorado. (My boys are adult size) and everyone was comfy cozy... Can't say that for the tiny Tacoma interior.

Congratulations!!! We love our Keystone!!! We've done extended trips and multiple multiple shorter ones. Great rig! Great set up! You will have a blast!!!
